Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is indigenous to the rain forests of South East Asia, mainly Thailand and Malaysia. It is a large tree that can reach 15 meters with large yellow flowers. Over 25 alkaloids have been isolated from kratom, the most important being mitragynine.
Kratom is widely known throughout Southeast Asia. In Thailand it was used in many dishes, before it was banned by the government.
The effects of kratom leaves Malaysia seem to be identical to the effects of Bali Kratom.
Effects come on within five to ten minutes after use, and last for several hours. Kratom has both stimulating and depressant qualities. Some sources say that it is a stimulant in lower doses, becoming sedative in higher doses. Mitragynine does not appear to cause nausea or vomiting. The feeling has been described as happy and active, with a strong desire to do work.
Sometimes when you use Kratom for the first time, your brain is not sure how to react to the new substance and is not sure what to do with it. Therefore the first few times you use Kratom it may not work or will have a light effect, until the brain receptors have figured out how to process it.
The leaves of kratom are ground and eaten, usually followed by drinking warm water, tea or coffee. Leaves can also be made into a tea, or a crude resin extraction can be made. An resin extract is made by preparing a water extract of the leaves, boiling it down, and then shaping it into a small ball. 3-5 grams is an average dosage.
Azarius also offers finely powdered kratom. Ready for use and perfectly appropriate for mixing with honey or to blend in a milkshake.
We advise not to participate in traffic or other activities that demand your concentration. Usage of kratom in high dosages may be mildly habit-forming. Acute side effects include dry mouth, loss of appetite and constipation. Side effects from long term use include weight loss, insomnia, and a darkening of the skin, particularly on the cheeks. Do not combine wit MAO-inhibitors.
Self-treatment is never recommended especially if you are suffering from serious conditions such as depression or anxiety. They should never be treated without a checkup from a medical professional.
