Water pipes & bongs
by PieceMaker
The PieceMaker Unikorn is a limited edition silicone water pipe shaped like a unicorn — compact, virtually unbreakable, and engineered for smooth, bubble-rich filtration. Forget shelf ornaments that look fun but smoke like rubbish. This one actually performs, thanks to PieceMaker's angled hex-tek stem and a stainless steel bowl with integrated mesh. Available in two colourways while stocks last.
Two colourways, same pipe. The White version comes in white with rainbow accents — the classic unicorn look. The Hikea is blue and yellow, a bit bolder, a bit more playful. Both use the same hex-tek stem, the same stainless steel bowl, and the same food-grade silicone. Pick whichever one makes you smile. Neither will let you down functionally.

Complete your session setup with a proper grinder — the SLX Non-Stick Grinder pairs well here, since its ceramic coating means you're not fumbling with sticky aluminium while trying to pack a unicorn's bowl. A set of pipe cleaners and some isopropyl alcohol will keep the Unikorn's removable parts fresh between sessions.
Glass bongs are brilliant until they're not. One stumble at a mate's house, one clumsy elbow on the coffee table, and you're sweeping shards off the floor at 1 AM. We've seen it happen more times than we can count since opening the shop in 1999. The Unikorn solves the breakage problem entirely — food-grade silicone flexes on impact instead of shattering. Drop it, sit on it, stuff it in a backpack. It bounces back.
But here's the honest bit: most novelty-shaped silicone pipes are exactly that — novelties. They look fun on Instagram and smoke like a blocked drain. PieceMaker actually put engineering hours into this one. The angled hex-tek stem creates more bubble surface area than a straight downstem, which means cooler, smoother filtration. The stainless steel bowl with integrated mesh means you're not fishing for a separate gauze every time you pack it. The ergonomic carb hole sits where your thumb naturally rests, so you're not contorting your hand into weird positions mid-session.
The one limitation worth knowing: silicone retains flavour residue more than borosilicate glass does over time. You'll want to clean the Unikorn regularly — the removable mouthpiece and head make that straightforward, but don't skip it. A monthly soak in warm soapy water keeps things tasting fresh. Compared to something like the Piecemaker Kommuter (their more traditional silicone pipe), the Unikorn trades portability for conversation value. The Kommuter is slimmer and fits in a jacket pocket. The Unikorn is a party piece that also happens to rip properly.
When we first unpacked the Unikorn, the immediate reaction was a grin — it's a silicone unicorn, after all. The second reaction, once we actually held it, was surprise at how solid it feels. The silicone has a nice density to it, not flimsy or thin. It weighs less than a glass piece of similar size, obviously, but it doesn't feel cheap in the hand. The hex-tek stem produces a noticeably finer bubble pattern than a standard straight stem — you can hear the difference. Finer bubbles, quieter draw.
We'd pick this over a cheap glass bong for any situation where breakage is a real risk — festivals, garden parties, camping, or just living with clumsy housemates. For a daily driver at home where it sits safely on a desk, glass still wins on flavour purity. But as a backup piece, a travel companion, or a gift for someone who appreciates absurd-yet-functional design, the Unikorn is hard to beat. And because it's a limited run from PieceMaker, once they're gone, they're gone.
Yes. The angled hex-tek stem creates finer, more numerous bubbles than a straight downstem, which increases the water-to-smoke contact area. It's not going to match a multi-perc glass piece, but for a compact silicone pipe, the filtration is genuinely impressive.
Remove the mouthpiece and head — both pop off easily. Rinse all parts with warm water after each session. For a thorough clean, soak the silicone parts in warm soapy water or isopropyl alcohol for 15-20 minutes, then rinse. The stainless steel bowl can be soaked separately. Do this weekly for best results.
The silicone body is food-grade and can handle high temperatures, but we'd recommend hand-washing. The stainless steel bowl and integrated mesh are better cleaned separately to avoid losing small parts in the dishwasher.
Colour only. The White version is white with rainbow accents. The Hikea is blue and yellow. Same hex-tek stem, same stainless steel bowl, same food-grade silicone, same dimensions. Purely an aesthetic choice.
Technically yes — it'll function as a dry pipe. But you lose the water filtration entirely, which means hotter, harsher draws. The hex-tek stem is specifically designed for water use, so you're leaving the best feature on the table if you skip it.
Virtually indestructible under normal use. Food-grade silicone flexes on impact rather than shattering. You can drop the Unikorn on concrete and it'll bounce. Glass, as anyone who's owned a bong knows, does not bounce. The trade-off is that silicone can absorb flavour residue over time, so regular cleaning matters more.
It's a limited edition run. Once current stock sells out, PieceMaker isn't making more. If you're on the fence, don't wait too long — we've seen limited PieceMaker editions disappear within a few months.
