Rolling trays
by RAW
The RAW Bamboo Triple Flip Rolling Tray is a modular bamboo rolling station that folds out into three separate work panels and snaps back together with magnets when you're done. Where most rolling trays are just a flat rectangle with a logo stamped on them, this one gives you dedicated cutaways for your grinder, papers, lighters, filters, glass tips, and hemp wick — all held in place, not sliding around. RAW designed this as the Swiss-army knife of rolling trays, and after handling one in person, we'd say that's about right.
Pick it up and the first thing you notice is the weight. It's proper bamboo — smooth, dense, and warm to the touch. Not the flimsy printed-tin trays that dent if you look at them wrong, and not the plasticky "bamboo-look" trays that fool nobody. The grain is visible, the edges are rounded, and the magnetic sides click together with a satisfying snap. It feels like something you'd leave on your coffee table, not something you'd hide in a drawer.
Most rolling trays do one thing: catch your bits. The RAW Triple Flip does about eight things, and does them well. Its 3-panel folding design means you get three distinct work surfaces. One person can grind on the left panel while another rolls on the right — or you can unfold the whole thing for a full spread when you're prepping solo. Each panel has purpose-cut slots: a large circular cutaway sized for a standard grinder, smaller circular cutouts for lighters and glass tips, and rectangular channels that fit RAW papers, cardboard tips, and cones of all sizes.
The built-in ashtray flips out from one side — handy for sessions, and it tucks away flat when you're done. The flip-out bamboo sides double as scrapers for sweeping loose material back onto the tray surface, plus they work as holders for your finished rolls. It's the kind of design where every part has at least two jobs.
The modular construction is the real trick, though. The three panels detach completely from each other. Hand one to a mate who's grinding while you roll on another. When the session's over, everything clicks back together with the embedded magnets — no latches, no fiddly clips. Flat storage, easy cleaning.

Complete your setup: pair the Triple Flip with a RAW grinder that slots right into the large circular cutaway, and grab a pack of RAW rolling papers or pre-rolled cones to fill those rectangular channels. A hemp wick fits neatly in the side slots too.
We've sold rolling trays since the early 2000s, and the number one thing we hear from customers who upgrade from a cheap metal or plastic tray is: "Why didn't I do this sooner?" The answer's simple — a flat rectangle with raised edges technically works, but it doesn't organise anything. Your grinder slides into your papers, your lighter rolls off the edge, and you end up losing material into the gap between the tray and the table.
The RAW Triple Flip solves all of that by giving everything a home. The cutaways aren't decorative — they're functional. Your grinder sits in its slot and stays put. Your papers lie flat in their channel. Your lighter doesn't roll anywhere. It sounds like a small thing until you've actually used one, and then going back to a flat tray feels like cooking without a chopping board.
The honest limitation? Size. When fully unfolded, the Triple Flip takes up a fair bit of table space — it's three panels wide, after all. If you're working with a tiny side table or a cramped desk, you might find the full spread a bit much. The good news is you can use just one or two panels and leave the rest folded. Compared to something like a simple RAW metal tray, this is bulkier but vastly more functional. We'd pick the Triple Flip over a basic tray every time if you've got the space for it.
Since we carry trays in all three materials, here's the honest breakdown:
| Feature | Bamboo (Triple Flip) | Metal trays | Plastic trays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Durability | Very high — bamboo resists cracking and warping | High — but dents and scratches over time | Low — cracks, warps, stains |
| Cleaning | Wipe clean, smooth grain doesn't trap residue | Easy but residue sticks in printed designs | Stains permanently |
| Weight | Medium — solid but not heavy | Light to medium | Very light |
| Organisation | Built-in cutaways for every accessory | Flat surface only | Flat surface only |
| Aesthetics | Natural wood grain — looks good on display | Printed artwork — varies wildly | Cheap appearance |
| Portability | Folds flat with magnetic closure | No folding — fixed shape | No folding — fixed shape |
Bamboo is also a rapidly renewable resource — it grows to harvestable size in 3–5 years compared to 20–50 years for hardwood timber. RAW uses untreated natural bamboo for the Triple Flip, so there's no chemical coating between you and the surface.
When all three panels are laid flat, the Triple Flip spans roughly three times the width of a single panel. It's a generous workspace — enough for grinding, mixing, and rolling side by side. Folded up, it compresses to a single panel's footprint for easy storage.
No. Bamboo and dishwashers don't mix — the heat and moisture will warp and crack the wood over time. Wipe it down with a slightly damp cloth and let it air dry. The smooth bamboo surface makes this quick and easy.
Yes — the embedded magnets are strong enough to keep all three panels snapped together during transport and storage. They won't pop open in a bag. When you want to separate the panels, a firm tug does the job without fighting them.
The large circular cutaway is sized for standard 50–55mm grinders, which covers most 4-piece grinders on the market. If you've got an oversized 63mm+ grinder, it may sit on top rather than nesting in. The smaller circular slots fit lighters, glass tips, and cones.
Different tools for different situations. The metal tray is lighter, cheaper, and fine for quick rolls. The Triple Flip is for people who want organisation, modularity, and a proper station. If you regularly roll with multiple accessories or share with friends, the Triple Flip is the clear upgrade. If you just need a catch-all surface, a metal tray does the job.
Dampen a cloth with warm water and a tiny drop of washing-up liquid. Wipe the surface, then dry immediately with a clean cloth. For stubborn spots, a gentle scrape with one of the tray's own flip-out bamboo sides works perfectly — that's literally what they're designed for.
Absolutely. The modular design means you can detach any panel and use it independently. Use one panel as a compact personal tray, or two panels for a medium setup. The magnets only engage when you bring the panels together, so there's no dangling hardware.
