We'll only email you about this product — no marketing.
The SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder is a 4-part herb grinder built from aerospace-grade 7075 T6 aluminium and coated inside and out with a proprietary ceramic non-stick layer. Where most grinders gum up within weeks and become a chore to twist, the SLX 2.5 stays smooth from day one — and stays that way. We've had one behind the counter since they first landed, and it still twists like new. That's not marketing; that's just what happens when you coat every surface in ceramic instead of leaving bare aluminium to collect resin.
The SLX 2.5 comes in one size — 62mm diameter, which is the sweet spot for daily use. Not so small you're reloading constantly, not so wide it won't fit in a jacket pocket. All seven colours use the same aerospace aluminium and ceramic coating, so pick whichever catches your eye:
| Colour | SKU |
|---|---|
| Silver | HS2053 |
| Charcoal | HS0316 |
| Yellow Gold | HS0163 |
| Purple Haze | HS0162 |
| Leaf Green | HS0161 |
| Champagne Gold | HS0182 |
| Black | HS0315 |
The Charcoal and Black are the most understated. The Purple Haze and Leaf Green are the ones that get comments. We'd pick Charcoal — it hides fingerprints better than the polished finishes.

Complete your setup: pair the SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder with a storage jar to keep your ground herb fresh between sessions. A pollen press is also worth grabbing if you collect from the kief catcher regularly — you'll get surprisingly tidy discs from what the SLX's micro-precision screen filters through.
Here's the thing nobody tells you about cheap grinders: they work fine for about three weeks. Then the threads start to stick. You're twisting harder, the teeth are clogged with compressed plant material, and half of what you put in stays glued to the walls. You end up scraping it out with a coin or a toothpick, losing material and patience in equal measure. We've seen customers bring in grinders that are essentially welded shut from resin buildup — and these were grinders they'd bought less than six months earlier.
The SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder sidesteps that entire cycle. The ceramic coating means resin doesn't bond to the surface. Nothing sticks to the walls, nothing clogs the teeth, and the threads stay smooth. SLX claims you'll never need to clean it, and from what we've seen after years of daily use on our shop counter model, they're not exaggerating. The grinder still twists with one hand. That alone is worth the upgrade from a standard aluminium grinder.
The second problem the SLX 2.5 solves is durability. Most grinders use 6000-series aluminium — it's fine for light use, but the teeth bend over time, especially with denser, stickier herbs. SLX uses 7075 T6 aluminium, which is the same grade used in aircraft frames and high-stress structural components. It's significantly harder than 6000-series alloy. Each tooth has 4 precision-cut edges rather than the usual 2, which means a more consistent grind with less effort. You won't be wrestling with it. The honest limitation? It's heavier than a basic grinder. You can feel the density when you pick it up — solid, almost weighty. That's the trade-off for aerospace-grade metal, and most people consider it a feature rather than a drawback. It feels like a tool, not a toy.
We carry a range of grinders at different price points. A basic 4-part aluminium grinder does the job and costs a fraction of the SLX 2.5. So why would you spend more? Three reasons, and they're all practical rather than cosmetic.
First, the non-stick ceramic coating. This isn't a marketing gimmick. Standard aluminium oxidises and creates a rough surface that resin bonds to almost immediately. The SLX 2.5's ceramic layer is chemically inert — resin can't grip it. Your herbs fall through cleanly, your kief actually reaches the catcher instead of sticking to the screen frame, and the threads never seize. Over a year of use, you'll recover more material from each session than you would with an uncoated grinder. It adds up.
Second, the screen design. Most grinder screens are press-fitted and threaded. The SLX 2.5's screen snaps in and out without threads — just lift it. The mesh itself is micro-precision manufactured steel, finer than what you'll find in most grinders. Only pollen passes through, so you get clean kief with zero plant matter contamination. No waste.
Third, the neodymium magnets. Standard grinder magnets are weak enough that a bump can pop the lid off and scatter your herbs. Rare Earth Neodymium magnets are dramatically stronger — the lid snaps shut and stays shut. It also keeps moisture and scent sealed inside, which matters if you're carrying it.

We've sold grinders for over 25 years. The SLX 2.5 is the one we keep behind the till for personal use. That's not a sales line — it's just the grinder that never gave us a reason to switch. The weight is the first thing you notice: pick it up and it feels like a precision instrument, not a novelty item. The ceramic coating has a smooth, almost silky texture under your fingers, distinctly different from raw or anodised aluminium. When you twist it, there's no gritty resistance, just a clean, effortless rotation. Even after months of daily use, the threads feel exactly like they did out of the box.
The one thing we'd flag: if you're used to a very fine, almost powdery grind, the SLX 2.5 produces a medium-fine consistency. It's ideal for most purposes, but it's not a powder mill. For most people, that's actually preferable — you get airflow through the material rather than a compacted mass. But if ultra-fine is specifically what you're after, manage your expectations.
Practically, yes. The ceramic non-stick coating prevents resin from bonding to any surface — walls, teeth, threads, and screen frame. After years of use, our shop model has never been cleaned beyond a casual brush. Residue simply doesn't accumulate the way it does on uncoated aluminium.
The coating is 100% non-toxic and FDA approved. It contains no Teflon and no PTFE, so there's no risk of harmful chemical release. Unlike PTFE-based coatings, the SLX ceramic won't degrade or off-gas at any temperature you'd encounter during normal use.
Most grinders use 6000-series aluminium, which is softer and more prone to bent teeth and cross-threading over time. The SLX 2.5 uses 7075 T6 — an aerospace-grade alloy that's significantly harder and more durable. It's the same grade used in aircraft structural components. Teeth won't bend, threads won't strip.
The main differences are the non-stick ceramic coating (no buildup, no seizing), stronger 7075 T6 aluminium (no bent teeth), 4-edge precision teeth (more consistent grind), threadless snap-lift screen, and neodymium magnets. A standard grinder works fine initially but degrades quickly. The SLX 2.5 maintains its performance indefinitely.
7075 T6 aerospace-grade aluminium is denser than the 6000-series alloy used in most grinders. The extra weight is a direct result of the stronger material. Most users prefer the heft — it feels solid and controlled during grinding rather than flimsy.
Yes. The screen snaps in and out without any threading — just lift it. This makes it easy to access, clean, or inspect. No fighting with stuck threads or cross-threaded screens.
Very unlikely. The lid is held shut by Rare Earth Neodymium magnets, which are dramatically stronger than the standard ferrite magnets in most grinders. Moisture and scent stay sealed inside. We'd still recommend keeping it upright if possible, but accidental openings are essentially eliminated.
Medium-fine. The 4-edge precision teeth produce a consistent, even grind that works well for virtually all purposes. It's not a powder-fine grind — there's enough texture for good airflow. Five to ten twists is typically all you need.
