Lighters & torches

We'll only email you about this product — no marketing.
The Clipper lighter is a refillable, flint-based lighter that's been the go-to flame source for smokers across Europe since 1972. This Church edition features artwork from the "Church" design series — stained glass motifs, gothic architecture, and religious iconography rendered in Clipper's signature bold colour style. Sold individually, design selected at random from the Church collection.
Clipper lighters are refillable isobutane lighters with a removable flint wheel — two features that set them apart from every disposable you've ever lost down the back of a sofa. The round barrel fits naturally in your hand, and the integrated poker (pull out the flint housing) is something no other lighter brand offers as standard. We've sold thousands of these since 1999, and the return rate is essentially zero.
The honest limitation: the spark wheel can feel stiff out of the box. Give it 10-15 flicks and it loosens up. Compared to a BIC, the Clipper's flame is slightly smaller at default, but it's adjustable — slide a thin tool into the gas valve to increase or decrease output. A BIC gives you one flame height until it dies. A Clipper gives you control, indefinitely.
Weight in hand is noticeably lighter than a Zippo (roughly 18g empty versus 55g for a Zippo). If you want something pocket-friendly that doesn't clunk around, this is it. The plastic body feels solid enough — not flimsy, not luxury. Functional.

Clipper's design hasn't changed much in 50+ years because it didn't need to. The round body, the removable flint system, and the consistent flame output all work together. Here's how to get the most out of yours.
We get asked "which lighter should I buy?" at least once a day. For rolling tobacco and joints, Clipper wins every time — the round base doubles as a tamper, the poker is genuinely useful, and the slim profile doesn't stretch your pocket. For pipes and bongs, you might want a longer flame (check our jet lighters), but for everyday sparking up, this is the one we reach for behind the counter ourselves.
One thing worth knowing: designs within the Church series are selected at random by our warehouse team. If you order 3 or more, they'll pick different designs where stock allows — but we can't guarantee specific artwork. Every lighter in the series shares the same gothic-inspired aesthetic, so they all look the part regardless.
Complete your setup with a Clipper butane refill canister to keep this lighter running indefinitely, or grab a rolling tray to keep your station tidy. If you prefer a windproof flame for outdoor use, our jet lighter range offers a focused torch flame that handles gusts without flinching.

Clippers are fully refillable with standard butane and have a removable flint system you can replace indefinitely. They also feature a built-in poker tool — pull out the flint housing and you've got a thin rod for packing or poking. No disposable lighter offers any of these features.
No — designs are selected at random from available stock. If you order multiple Clipper lighters, our warehouse picks varied designs where possible, but specific artwork can't be guaranteed.
Turn it upside down and press a standard butane refill canister into the valve at the base for 3-5 seconds. Wait at least 30 seconds before striking. One canister refills a Clipper roughly 10-15 times depending on canister size.
With regular refilling and occasional flint replacement, a single Clipper lasts years. The plastic body is the only part that can't be serviced, and it's durable enough to outlast dozens of disposables.
Clipper lighters meet EN ISO 9994 safety standards for lighters sold in the EU. The isobutane fuel produces a clean flame. As with any lighter, keep away from heat sources and out of reach of children.
The round barrel serves a dual purpose: it fits comfortably when rolling the spark wheel with one hand, and the flat base works as a tamper for packing material into a cone or bowl. It's a design choice made for smokers specifically.
