The EASY VALVE Screen Set is a replacement screen pack designed for the Volcano vaporiser's EASY VALVE filling chamber system. These stainless steel mesh screens sit inside the filling chamber, filtering plant material from your vapour stream and keeping your balloon bags clean. Available in three variants — Normal (30mm), Normal Small (15mm), and Fine (30mm) — so you can match the screen to your specific chamber and material type.
| Variant | Diameter | Quantity | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 30mm | 6 screens | Standard EASY VALVE Filling Chamber — your default pick for regular ground herb |
| Normal - Small | 15mm | 6 screens | EASY VALVE Filling Chamber Reducer — the smaller chamber insert for reduced loads |
| Fine | 30mm | 6 screens | Powdered or finely ground materials in the standard EASY VALVE Filling Chamber |
Not sure which size? If you're using the standard filling chamber without any reducer insert, grab the Normal (30mm). If you've got the Chamber Reducer fitted for smaller sessions, you need the Normal - Small (15mm). The Fine mesh variant is specifically for powdered materials — the tighter weave stops fine particles from passing through into your balloon.

Complete your EASY VALVE maintenance kit: the EASY VALVE Replacement Set gives you fresh balloons and mouthpieces, while the EASY VALVE Filling Chamber Reducer pairs directly with the Normal - Small screens for smaller, more efficient loads. If your Volcano uses the Solid Valve system instead, check the Solid Valve Screen Set — the dimensions differ by roughly 6mm and they're not interchangeable.
Here's what actually happens when you ignore your screens: resin builds up in the mesh, airflow drops, and your Volcano has to work harder to push hot air through the filling chamber. You end up with thinner bags, weaker draws, and uneven extraction. We've had customers bring their filling chambers into the shop looking like they'd been dipped in treacle — and then wonder why their sessions felt off. The screen was the whole problem.
A clean screen means consistent airflow across the full surface area of your herb. The EASY VALVE chamber is wider than the Solid Valve by about 6mm in diameter, which gives you more exposed surface area for extraction. But that advantage disappears fast if the screen is clogged. Six screens in a pack means you can rotate fresh ones in while soaking the used ones, keeping your Volcano performing the way Storz & Bickel intended.
The honest limitation? These are consumables, full stop. No screen lasts forever, no matter how well you clean it. Residue gets baked into the mesh over time, and once airflow feels restricted even after a good soak, it's time for a new one. We'd say most people go through a screen every 3-6 weeks with regular use, though heavy daily sessions will shorten that. At six per pack, you're sorted for a good stretch.
You can extend the life of each screen significantly with regular cleaning. Drop used screens into a small glass jar with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and let them soak for 20-30 minutes. For stubborn buildup, a soft-bristled brush — an old toothbrush works — gently loosens residue without damaging the mesh. Rinse thoroughly with warm water afterwards and let the screen dry completely before reinserting it. Never use a naked flame to burn off residue; it weakens the stainless steel and can warp the screen out of shape. If a screen still feels restricted after a proper clean, swap it out — that's what the other five in the pack are for.
No. The EASY VALVE screen is 30mm in diameter, while the Solid Valve uses a different, slightly narrower screen. The two systems are not interchangeable. Check which valve system your Volcano uses before ordering — if you have the Solid Valve, you need the Solid Valve Screen Set instead.
With regular cleaning, most screens last 3-6 weeks of daily use. The telltale sign is restricted airflow — if your bags are filling slowly or unevenly even after a thorough isopropyl soak, the mesh is done. Heavy users might go through screens faster, which is why the pack includes 6.
The Fine screen has a tighter mesh weave designed specifically for powdered or very finely ground materials. Standard screens let fine particles pass through into the balloon bag. If you're vaporising anything ground to a near-powder consistency, the Fine variant (30mm) keeps your bags clean.
No — the Normal - Small screen is 15mm in diameter, designed exclusively for the EASY VALVE Filling Chamber Reducer insert. It won't cover the full chamber opening on a standard 30mm filling chamber. You'd get herb falling around the edges and into places it shouldn't be.
A filled balloon holds vapour well for about 5-10 minutes before it starts to thin out and condense on the bag walls. For the best experience, draw from the bag shortly after filling. Leaving it sitting around for 20+ minutes means noticeably staler, thinner vapour.
Not in any meaningful way. The screen's job is filtration, not temperature regulation — that's handled by the Volcano's heating element and your chosen temperature setting. A clean screen does allow more consistent airflow, which means more even heat distribution across your material.
