The G Pen Connect Glass Adapter is a precision-ground borosilicate glass fitting that connects your G Pen Connect vaporiser directly to any standard bong, dab rig, or water pipe. Available in six variants — 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm in both male and female configurations — it replaces the universal multi-adapter that ships with the Connect, giving you a tighter, more stable seal and a cleaner draw. Over 70% of customers who buy this adapter choose the 14mm male variant, making it the most popular size in our catalogue. One adapter, one job, zero wobble.
Grab your water pipe and measure the joint — that's the opening where the bowl or banger sits. If you don't have calipers lying around (and who does), here's the quick trick: a 10mm joint is roughly the diameter of a biro pen (about 9.75mm ground joint), 14mm is about the width of your index finger (14.5mm standard taper), and 18mm is close to a 1p coin (18.8mm outer diameter). Still not sure? Most standard-sized bongs use a 14mm joint — approximately 80% of medium-sized rigs on the market default to this size.
| Variant | Joint Type | Joint Size | SKU |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10mm Male | Male (inserts into the rig) | 10mm | VS0249 |
| 14mm Male | Male (inserts into the rig) | 14mm | VS0250 |
| 18mm Male | Male (inserts into the rig) | 18mm | VS0251 |
| 10mm Female | Female (sits over the rig joint) | 10mm | VS0252 |
| 14mm Female | Female (sits over the rig joint) | 14mm | VS0253 |
| 18mm Female | Female (sits over the rig joint) | 18mm | VS0254 |
Male vs. female — the 10-second explanation: Look at your water pipe's joint. If it sticks up (a protruding tube), your rig has a male joint and you need a female adapter to sit over it. If it's a socket (a recessed opening), your rig has a female joint and you need a male adapter to slide into it. Most dab rigs and bongs use female joints, so most people end up ordering a male adapter.
The G Pen Connect Glass Adapter weighs between 8 and 12 grams depending on the variant, and is made from laboratory-grade borosilicate glass rated to withstand thermal shock up to approximately 165 °C.

Complete your setup: If you're running the G Pen Connect as your daily driver, pick up a spare G Pen Connect Replacement Tank to keep things fresh between deep cleans. Residue builds up faster than you'd think when you're running concentrates through water — a clean tank makes a real difference to flavour. You can also order a G Pen Connect Battery to have a backup power source ready.
A dedicated glass-on-glass adapter eliminates the air leaks and flex that the stock silicone multi-adapter introduces. The G Pen Connect ships with a universal silicone adapter that technically fits 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm joints. It works. We won't pretend it doesn't. But "works" and "works well" are two different things. The silicone flexes, the seal isn't always airtight, and over time the rubber picks up residue that's a pain to clean. We've had customers come back specifically to buy this glass adapter after a few weeks of wrestling with the stock one.
A glass-on-glass connection is simply tighter. There's no flex, no air leak, and no rubbery taste creeping into your draw. You get the full benefit of water filtration — cooler, smoother vapour with nothing lost to a dodgy seal. According to a 2020 report by the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction), vaporisation devices that heat material below combustion temperatures — typically under 230 °C — are associated with reduced production of certain pyrolytic byproducts compared to smoking. A proper seal means you're actually capturing all of that cleaner vapour in the chamber instead of losing it through gaps. A separate review published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (PMC7757764, 2020) reached similar conclusions regarding reduced harmful chemical output from vapour versus combustion.
The honest limitation: Glass is glass. Drop this on a tile floor and it's done. The stock silicone adapter survives falls — this one won't. If you're clumsy or you tend to use your rig outdoors at festivals, keep the silicone as a backup. For home use on a desk or table, the glass adapter is the better choice every time.
Installation takes under 30 seconds: twist the adapter into the Connect body, seat it in your rig, and you're ready to draw.
The 14mm male adapter accounts for roughly 3 out of every 5 units we sell from our Amsterdam shop. We've been selling G Pen gear since they first hit the European market, and the number one question we get about the Connect is: "Why does it feel loose on my bong?" Nine times out of ten, it's the stock multi-adapter not gripping properly on a 14mm joint. Switching to the dedicated glass adapter resolves that loose fit instantly. It's a small spend that makes the whole setup feel like a proper piece of kit instead of a bodge job held together by friction and hope.
The weight of the adapter in hand is minimal — it's a small piece of borosilicate, roughly 8–12 grams depending on the size. But when it's seated in your rig, you can feel the difference. There's a satisfying click of glass meeting glass, no rattle, no play. The 18mm male is the chunkiest of the six; the 10mm female is barely bigger than a thimble. If you own multiple rigs (and plenty of our customers do), get one adapter per rig so you're not swapping and risking chips. You can buy each size separately — no need to order a full set if you only run one piece.
No. The twist-fit threading is specific to the G Pen Connect body. It won't fit the G Pen Roam, Dash, or any third-party vaporiser. If you're using a different device, you'll need a universal adapter or one made for that specific model.
If the joint on your water pipe sticks outward like a tube, it's male — you need a female adapter. If it's a recessed socket, it's female — you need a male adapter. Most standard dab rigs and bongs have female joints, so the male adapter (especially 14mm) is the most commonly ordered size.
Yes, as long as the silicone bong has a standard glass joint in the correct size. Many silicone rigs use a 14mm glass-on-glass joint insert. Check the joint material — if it's all silicone with no glass insert, the fit won't be secure enough.
Yes. The 14mm joint is the industry standard for most medium-sized bongs and dab rigs. If you're unsure and your rig looks like a typical desktop piece, 14mm male is your safest bet. Smaller rigs (mini dab rigs, pocket bubblers) often use 10mm, while large beaker bongs sometimes run 18mm.
Soak it in isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) for 10–15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. A cotton bud cleans the threaded section where residue accumulates. Do this every 5–10 sessions to keep the connection clean and the airflow unrestricted.
The adapter itself doesn't change vapour quality — your water pipe does the filtering. What the glass adapter does is create a tighter seal than the stock silicone multi-adapter, so you lose less vapour to air leaks. The result is denser, more flavourful draws because all the vapour actually passes through the water.
A wrong-sized adapter simply won't seat properly in your rig — it'll either be too loose or won't fit at all. Measure your joint before ordering. If you're between sizes or genuinely unsure, drop our customer service team a message with a photo of your rig's joint and they'll sort you out.
