The PAX Half-Pack Oven Lid is a replacement oven lid that reduces your PAX vaporizer's chamber size by roughly half — from around 0.35g down to approximately 0.2g. If you've ever packed a half-full oven and noticed thin, wispy vapour, this is the fix. The deeper lid compresses a smaller amount of herb into a tighter space, which means better heat distribution and denser draws even when you're not loading a full chamber.

Complete your setup: pair the Half-Pack Oven Lid with PAX pipe cleaners and isopropyl wipes to keep the oven channel clear. A clogged vapour path kills airflow faster than a half-packed chamber ever will. If you're running a PAX 3, the PAX multi-tool makes scraping out spent herb between sessions dead simple.
The standard PAX oven holds between 0.3g and 0.4g depending on how finely you grind. That's a decent session for two people, but if you're vaping solo on a Tuesday evening, packing a full oven means either wasting herb or getting more sessions than you wanted. Half-packing with the standard lid leaves air gaps around the material — and air gaps are the enemy of conduction vaporizers. The heating walls can't make proper contact with loosely packed herb, so you get uneven extraction and flavour that drops off fast.
The Half-Pack Oven Lid sits deeper inside the chamber, physically pressing the herb against the oven walls. It's the same click-in mechanism as the stock lid — you won't notice any difference in how it attaches. The difference is entirely inside: tighter pack, better wall contact, more even heating. We've had customers come back surprised at how much vapour they get from 0.2g with this thing compared to a loosely loaded full oven.
One honest limitation: this lid won't magically improve a dirty oven. If your PAX screen is gunked up and the vapour path is restricted, no lid swap will save you. Clean the oven, then swap the lid. That's the order of operations.
Think of it this way: the standard lid is for full sessions — 0.3–0.4g, sharing with a mate, or settling in for the evening. The Half-Pack Oven Lid is your daily driver for solo use. Roughly 0.2g per load, tighter extraction, and you're not committing half a gram every time you want a quick 10-minute session.
| Feature | Standard Oven Lid | Half-Pack Oven Lid |
|---|---|---|
| Chamber capacity | 0.3–0.4g | ~0.2g |
| Best for | Full sessions, sharing | Solo sessions, microdosing, conserving herb |
| Vapour density (full pack) | Thick, consistent | Thick, consistent (with less material) |
| Vapour density (half pack) | Thin, uneven | N/A — designed for smaller loads |
| Herb efficiency | Good when fully packed | Better per-gram extraction on small loads |
If you're the type who half-fills the standard oven and wonders why the last few draws taste like burnt popcorn — that's uneven extraction from air gaps. The Half-Pack Oven Lid eliminates that problem entirely. It's the best PAX accessory for solo vapers who want to conserve herb without sacrificing vapour quality.
We've sold PAX vaporizers since they first landed in Europe, and the number one complaint from solo users has always been the same: "I don't want to pack a full oven every time." The Half-Pack Oven Lid is PAX Labs' own answer to that. It weighs almost nothing — maybe 5 grams — and feels identical to the standard lid in your hand. The anodised finish matches the PAX body, and it's got a slightly raised centre on the outer face so you can tell it apart from the stock lid by touch alone.
One thing worth noting: the Half-Pack Oven Lid is not compatible with BudKups dosing capsules. The deeper lid profile doesn't leave room for a capsule inside the oven. If you're using BudKups, stick with the standard lid. If you prefer loading loose herb directly into the oven, this is your lid.
This lid is designed for the PAX 2 and PAX 3 specifically. The PAX Plus and PAX Mini have different oven dimensions. Check PAX Labs' compatibility guides if you're running a newer model — they make separate accessories for each generation.
Roughly 0.15–0.2g depending on grind consistency. A medium-fine grind fills the reduced chamber nicely. Coarser grinds take up more space and leave air pockets, so aim finer than you would for a joint.
No. The deeper lid profile doesn't leave enough clearance for a BudKups capsule inside the oven. Use the standard oven lid when loading BudKups, and the Half-Pack Oven Lid for loose herb only.
Less total vapour across the session, yes — you're using roughly half the material. But each individual draw should be just as dense as a full-pack draw, because the lid compresses the herb against the oven walls for proper conduction contact. That's the whole point.
Soak it in isopropyl alcohol for 10–15 minutes, then wipe with a cotton bud. Resin builds up on the inner face over time and can affect the seal. A quick clean every week or two keeps it clicking in properly.
Packing less herb with the standard lid leaves air gaps — the herb doesn't contact the oven walls properly, so you get weak, uneven vapour. The Half-Pack Lid compresses a smaller load into a tighter space. It's a small spend that genuinely improves the experience for light or solo sessions.
