The Storm Sapphire Concentrate Pad is a stainless steel mesh disc designed to sit inside the heating chamber of your Storm Sapphire vaporiser, giving concentrates and waxes a stable, even surface to vaporise from. Sold in a 3-pack, these pads stop sticky extracts from seeping into the chamber walls and gumming up the works — so you get cleaner vapour and a much easier time when it comes to maintenance.
Concentrates are brilliant — potent, flavourful, and fast-acting. But loading a sticky wax directly into a conduction chamber is asking for trouble. Without a barrier, the extract melts straight into the heating element and the chamber walls. Within a few sessions, you're dealing with a residue layer that's a nightmare to clean, chokes airflow, and starts tainting the flavour of every session after it.
That's the problem these pads solve. The fine stainless steel mesh wicks the concentrate across its surface as it melts, creating a larger surface area for even vaporisation. You get thicker clouds, better terpene expression, and a chamber that stays remarkably clean between sessions. We've seen customers try makeshift solutions — bits of degummed hemp fibre, tiny screens cut from pipe gauze — and they sort of work, but they don't sit flush in the Sapphire's chamber the way a purpose-made pad does. A poor fit means uneven heating, wasted material, and hot spots that can scorch your extract.
The honest limitation: these pads are consumables. Even stainless steel mesh gets clogged with carbon buildup over time, especially if you run your Sapphire at higher temperature settings. Expect to swap a pad out every couple of weeks with regular use. That's exactly why Storm sells them in a 3-pack — one in the chamber, two in the drawer, ready to rotate in.

Complete your Storm Sapphire setup: the Sapphire Glass Mouthpiece gives you a cooler, purer draw compared to the stock plastic tip — a noticeable upgrade if you're chasing flavour. And if you vape dry herbs as well as concentrates, keep a set of Sapphire Dosing Capsules on hand for mess-free, pre-packed sessions on the go.
Customers who switch from dry herb to concentrates on the Sapphire without using a pad almost always come back within a month asking how to deep-clean their chamber. The residue from melted wax bakes on hard at 200°C+ and standard cotton swabs barely touch it. A concentrate pad cuts that problem down to almost nothing. You're cleaning the pad, not the chamber — and a pad is a lot easier to soak and scrub than a fixed ceramic oven.
One thing worth mentioning: these pads have a slight metallic smell the first time you heat them. Run a quick burn-off cycle before your first real session — power on the Sapphire at the highest setting with the pad in the empty chamber, let it run for 60 seconds, then cool down. That burns off any residual manufacturing oils. After that, the pad is flavour-neutral.
| Feature | Storm Sapphire Concentrate Pad | Generic Cut-to-Fit Screen |
|---|---|---|
| Fit in Sapphire chamber | Flush, purpose-cut diameter | Requires trimming, often imprecise |
| Mesh density | Fine weave — holds viscous extracts | Varies widely; coarse mesh lets wax drip through |
| Material | Stainless steel | Usually stainless steel, sometimes brass |
| Even heat distribution | Designed for Sapphire's conduction oven | Hot spots from poor contact |
| Pack quantity | 3 | Varies (often 5–10, but most won't fit) |
They're cut specifically for the Storm Sapphire's chamber diameter. They may physically fit in other vapes with a similar oven size, but the fit won't be guaranteed. For the best results, stick to the Sapphire.
With daily use, swap in a fresh pad every 2–3 weeks. You'll notice the mesh getting dark and airflow dropping off — that's your cue. Regular isopropyl soaks extend the lifespan, but they're consumables by nature.
You can, but there's no real benefit. The pad is designed to give concentrates a stable surface. For dry herbs, just load the chamber directly or use Sapphire Dosing Capsules instead.
Not after the initial burn-off. Run one empty heating cycle at the highest temperature before your first session to clear any manufacturing residue. After that, the stainless steel is flavour-neutral.
Soak in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol for 10–15 minutes, then scrub with a stiff brush or pipe cleaner. Rinse under warm water and let dry completely before reuse. Don't put them back in the chamber wet.
A rice-grain-sized dab is the sweet spot. Overloading causes the wax to pool over the pad edges and into the chamber — exactly what you're trying to avoid. Start small; you can always reload.
With a concentrate pad, yes — it handles waxes and dabs well. The Sapphire has 5 temperature settings and heats up in about 60 seconds, which is quick enough for on-demand dab sessions. It's not a dedicated dab rig, but for a portable dual-use vape, it does the job.
